Do you mean in the flex client or in the installed client? In flex client you can set up multimonitor mode that can place the alarm window a separate screen.

I have not myself laborated that much with them since the documentation, again, is quite poor on what options we have.

But you can modify and create your own profiles where such behavior in theory can be modified.

Looking at the DEFAULT.ldl file there is an option called "StartAsCollapsed = true" if that is set to false and the client is closed with desired layout, may that give desired effect?

Theres alot of things in that file that looks interesting to tinker with :)
