Need help for simcode

richie Member Joined: 10/10/2005 Last visit: 5/18/2007 Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	Dear everyone, i have not found the topic about simcode,so i have to ask a question here.My question is : In my profibus-dp network,there are a lot of DP stations of simcode,but the communication is not stable,e.g. the communication for some simcodeare broke suddently sometime. i have no ideas about this,pls help me,thanks a lot in advance.[:blush:]

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hi Richie, well, offering you an answer right now would be too much, but I guess that there can be some points to focus on to solve this situation. One thing I expect is that it might be possible that the number of nodes on the Network has been increased without adjusting the network parameters. So the network over all could be unstable. One other thing could be a fault in the wiring... there are so many possible things as cause for such a problem. Is it possible to monitor the faults of the Slaves? Are always the same slaves affected? Such kind of questions. I would really recommend you to contact your local SIEMENS Support to get personal support via phone or maybe even with a visit of a technician on site. Best regards J_Bell

The Mechanic Posts: 48 Rating: (4)	Hi Richie, Iagree with j_bell. Get somebody to measure your Profibus network. Another possible solution is adding a diagnostic repeater to your network. The diagnostic repeater will check your network for cabling errors etc. Do you use an S7 PLC as master? In that case try hanging your S7 project to this forum as attachment. Or at least your hw config. I'll have a look at it for you to check the settings. Mechanic
