Totally Integrated Automation (TIA)

I recently read a thread stating the wonders of TIA.

A few months back, i attended a seminar regarding the functionalities of a project made through TIA. However, i am afraid i haven't totally understood what it was about. All i knew was that it links the HMI with the PLC program making the configuration easier (much like PCS7). Also, some other functionalities were available if you use TIA.

My question is, if i will use TIA, do i need a new software and license for it? Also, is it possible to use with Step 7 v 5.4 and a WinCC v 6.2?

Could anyone provide me a link to download a manual to this subject?

I am really interested with this and hoping to use it with our up coming projects.

First of all it’s a big issue of discussion.

Regarding license it’s purely depends upon your tools which you are using. Say, if you use Web Navigator then separate license is required.

Yes, you can use S7 5.4 and WinCC 6.2 for TIA. In brief you have two catch points

• S7 and WinCC compatibility.

• The following needs to be installed from the WinCC CD/DVD:
