Cannot force outputs - proctetion level?

Sonnich Jensen Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello I am new to S7, so.... It is an old machine (Pfaurer 320), and the software I have is from the PLC itself. But now when testing, I cannot force outputs - I get an error message saying "you cannot use this under the current protection level". Properties for the CPU are "read only", and the level there is 1. I want to test a number of relays from the PLC, not hardwire them. The machine is old, and the programmer is either unknown, dead, gone or went on to something better. The softwareis "as is". BTW they want some updates late, canI change that? WBR Sonnich Jensen

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/4/2024 Posts: 12293 Rating: (2690)	Hello Sonnich Jensen; Please have a look at the following FAQ explaining the different levels of CPU protection available on a S7 PLC: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/16650102 Strangely, it seems that the protection level in your CPU as you describe it should be 2, write-protect. Look at the last paragraphs, they tell you how to remove the protection. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
