S7-200 with Fo

gswami Posts: 23 Rating: (3)	I have two S7-200 one CPU226 and the other one is CPU 224. Both are 2000 Metres apart. two needs to be connected to exchange data. My preference is to use RS485 to FO converter to share data in between. My doubts are.. 1. Will this work 2. Is any other special modules are required 3. What is maximum possible speed of data exchange Thanks Swaminathan

neo Posts: 264 Rating: (59)	Hello Swaminathan, I prefer CP243-1 For data exchange between S7-200 plc. This is the easiest and fastest way. As converter to FO you could use the Siemens Simatic Net Scalance X101-1 MediaConverter (or even a Scalance X206-1) Please check your FO - Cable if it´s Single (X101-1 LD, X206-1LD) or Multimode. best regards...
