CU320 CF card and communication problem

Arjuna Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello there, What happened if we change/swap CF card from the other CU320? is disturb the communication to PLC S7 also? how we can fix that? what is the meaning only RDY led is at Green but other Led (DP1, OPT) is off ?. What happened if CU320 all led indication is red all the time?what is the meaning of that? thanks

If you had such problem it is necessary, this my opinion, I do not hurry :): 1) to try to establish connection Scout (Starter)-> CU320 2) to read errors and magazine of errors If necessary: 1) to start an automatic configuration 2) to load the equipment design in CU320. If at you it is not possible to establish connection Scout (Starter) with CU320 you can try to remove data of drives from a CF-card, and then again to try to establish connection with CU320. My opinion, if all LED red light, a problem in data on a CF-card (possibly) or hardware CU320 (is improbable). Probably it will help you. Best regards. Gary.Hare Posts: 101 Rating: (8)	The CF card contains all the configuration and user data for that CU and connected technology. If you swap it with another it will not have the same information (unless it is from an identical system) so will need to be reconfigured. It also contains the profibus setings so if these are not the same, you will have plc errors as the drive may not be communicating any more.

All description about all red light at led was not help much. about communication problem, we can fix that by redownload configuration by scout via mpi. it worked and all green. another question guy, is there special procedure if we want to add new drive S120 in between original configuration? are there any special information mentioned that one drive is "locked" with motor connected. (i mean for example drive A should be always connected with motor A)

Insert new drive and configure it.To adjust this drive inbetween some other drive adjust topology.In topology you can drag power connection and encoder connection and can fix it to required drive clique port. The motor 15 I hope you have correctly understood. Description You can configure the drive data sets for the drive here. Table of the available drive data sets All drive data sets (DDS) with the assigned motor data sets (MDS) and encoder data sets (EDS) available in the project are displayed here. You can change the displayed assignments. Data sets no longer assigned a drive data set (DDS) MDS: You can remove motor data sets (MDS) that are no longer assigned to a drive data set as required. EDS: You can remove encoder data sets (EDS) that are no longer assigned to a drive data set as required. Selection Bit 0... 4: Selection of the parametre that supplies the signal for Bit 0... 4 of the drive data set selection. Copying of drive data set (DDS) Click the Copy button to start the copying procedure of a drive data set to another existing drive data set. All DDS-dependent parametres are copied, including the references to assigned motor data sets and encoder data sets. Drive data set Select the source data set for the copying procedure. To drive data set Select the target data set for the copying procedure. Add drive data set Click the button to add a drive data set. The Add Drive Data Set dialog box opens. We expect that all drives (off course as same capacity) will be flexible to swap to another position. And if we swap drives to another position, do we have to teach again each motor which connected to it? thanks, apologizes for too many question.. newbie

PLC contacts DRIVE using telegrammes. You configure identical telegrammes for each motor. You can change parametre of switching of motors. You address for specification to local partner Siemens.
