Ayman Elotaify Diamond Expert Joined: 5/28/2008 Last visit: 12/29/2025 Posts: 4522 Rating: (843)	niila i have a flowmeter and cpu 224 it generates for ex. in 1 second 10 pulse(so in 1 hours 3600 pulse 100m3 represents, 0 hours 0 m3) that pulse will be sent as an digital input(in my opinion) then i would like to see its range on operator panel Hello nilla, So your flow meter is sending a pulse and you have to connect it to a digital input. It is preferrable to use high speed inputs to avoid missing some pulses. When your HSC (High Speed Counter) count 3600 pulses, it means that 100 m3 of liguid have been flowed through out the flow meter. Your CPU224 have 6 different HSC. Please see the quick refence to know which inputs you should use with which HSC. I don't know what exact application in your case. So in that way you don't high frquency counter, you can use normal DI.

Thus because, in this case we won't have missed pulses. If the pulse output frequency is high, then you have to use HSC to avoid missing some pulses. You should know how much cubic meter per hour of the liquid represented by one pulse output. i.e.1 pulse = x m3/hr Output of Counter / HSC muliplied by the constant "x" will give usthe actual flow. You should program a bit to reset the counter or S/W gate to reset the HSC in order to reset the displayed value of the flow rate. Hope this helps.
