Modbus Redundant connection to DeltaV Emerson

Biagio Posts: 31 Rating: (1)	Good morning, a customer need to switch the actual WinCC to DeltaV DCS. The automation system iscomposed by twoS7-400H. The communication protocol is the Modbus TCP. I need to install the ModbusTCP Red V1 on S7-400Hs because I've the CP 6GK7 443-1EX11-0XE0 and 6GK7 443-1EX10-0XE0. Can I use the V1 or I need absolutely the V2? What I need to consider to execute the switch on modbus data exchange? Thanks

Sakura Silver Member Joined: 9/22/2010 Last visit: 2/10/2025 Posts: 225 Rating: (28)	When using the CPs 6GK7 443-1EX11-0XE0 and 6GK7 443-1EX10-0XE0, you definitely need to use ModbusTCP Red V1. It is not possible to use V2 with these CPs, since they don't support the FC10 AG_CNTRL which is needed by V2.

The other possibility is to download "ModbusTCP CP V4.x" to try the modbus communication. There is no redundancy in this version, but you can test the modbus communication. Wüstenräuber
