How to Upload File from V10.5 PLC to CPU with V11?

Dufour Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have ben asked to upload the file from a S7-1214C PLC which was programmed in V10.5. Unfortunately, I only have TIA V11 on my laptop. I do not appear to be able to upload, or go online with the software. How can I get around this without having tV10.5 software?

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/8/2024 Posts: 15388 Rating: (2443)	The best suggestion I have is to locate someone withTIA Portal 10.5 and ask them to download the program, possible an area Siemens applications engineer. Once downloaded, they can zip it up and your V11 can migrate it for you to use. After that, you will most likely want to update the PLC firmware to the latest (FW 2.2 right now), and update the project's plc device to match the installed firmware. Then you can do limited online updates (meaning you do not need to stop and restart the plc to make minor/routine changes).

Do you know if I will have anyproblems keeping bothy versions installed on the same PC? Both versions should work just fine. There is one possible problem when you migrate. If you open a .ap10 file with v11, it starts the migration automatically. If you open a .ap10 file with both installed, it may instead suggest or launch v10.5. As long as you know this, it should be fine.
