K.N.Rao Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Dear Mr.Prakash NCU is showing 6 on seven segment display When we switch on MMC the following error message coming first. 2001 : PLC has not started up If we try to do any thing in MMC the following error coming in addition 120202 : Wait ForConnection to NC/PLC One of the folder i have attached for ur ref. I also have one folder named as archives disk, in that the following sub folders archives, cycles, ghost 6 software, ghost image, NC data files and step7. Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello, What is the indication nc side and plc side i mean any red led is glowing? your plc should be in arc file....looks like your plc is not loaded. if you have yiur step7 try loading it . regards, prakash

I have loaded archive files available in the MMC hard disk. But I have some operational problems. Operator is able to do X,Y,Z&B axis references. But he could not unclamp head now. Could you please tell me how to enter into " HEAD INDEX SERVICE / SETUP" mode from MMC. regards K.N.Rao

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello, Looks like there are some informations you must enter this data mandatorly... " HEAD INDEX SERVICE / SETUP" mode from MMC. This data will be provided by the machine manufacturer check in your backups any informations are there available for the MMC ... may be you need to enter some offset / values in this screen then this error get dissappear... check it out.. Are you certain that this is the PCMCIA card that was inserted when the machine was running? Look what code comes if there is no PCMCIA card inserted on powerup... :) The lights remain solid, correct? I suspect your data is all gone already. 0. If the PCMCIA card is very hot to the touch....replace ncu, box, and card.... 1. Do you have another machine with the same NCU type? If so, while that one is off, borrow its card and start this ncu up with switches S3=1 S4=3 to identify if there is an issue with the card, or get Siemens service to burn appropriate software on a spare card. While the service guy is there, have him insert a PLCBESY update card, and restart the ncu, this will clear the ncu as well. 2. If the battery has been installed for 10 years or so, pull out the battery drawer an replace it(battery drawer at bottom of ncu box) 3. Remove the NCU, inspect the area around the flash card for furry black residue from your shop. Clean the bottom 1/3 of the board, there is often a lot of nasty stuff here which occasionally creates new circuits that the engineers who designed the board did not consider. Very often, this is the solution to your dillema. 4. Disconnect all of the connections from the front of the ncu, and try to repower the ncu. Disconnect the outgoing fat ribbon cable. (Unload the monitoring supply, if there is some voltage issue, perhaps it will boot properly when there is less load on the ncu...) 5. Verify that there are no red lights on on the infeed or monitoring supply that powers the ncu. 6. Get Siemens service...we can fix it, get replacements, get repairs...
