Let me try to explain how this can be achieved with the format of an ANY pointer for data types (there is a slightly different format for parameter types (Timers, counters, blocks) and a small example to show how it can be used. This means you can find out the instance DB number of any block linked to the ANY input.

Example to output the contents of the real at offset 10 in the instance DB of the connected block:

You can link any output of the CFC block except ENO to the LinkedBlock input and the function block will automatically determine the instance DB number and output the value in the instance DB at offset 10. (Off course you will have to look into the instance DB to determine which value you really want, this is just an example.
