We've tried to use a special function block sfb29, but it doesn't work. Wemust finishthe projectas soon as possible in order to passthe subject in our University. We need information about it,or anyidea about how todo thisusing another block function.Please help us!! THANK U!!

But how to solve it with S7-300 or S7-400? Is it necessary to buy modul with quick DI/DO and then use some special function (SFC) or periodical calling some OBx with owen sw instructions? Bye Hello firiruku, There are different ways to use. You can use a S7-300 compact CPU, with integrated Count functions. There are some digital inputs that can be used as a High speed counter. See also the following manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/12429336 At the right you see 'info', there you can also download some examples. It's a manual about the Technological functions of Compact CPU. You will have to use SFB's to count. Another way is to use a FM350-1 or FM350-2 high speed counter card. The first one is a one-channel card and the other a 8-channel card. Here the counting is performed by the FM-card. It doesn't affect the cycle time of CPU. When you want to use S7-400, you can use FM450 Hope this will help. Best regards, Wizard
