Configuring S7 300 Using Step 7 V12

Prob1 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I want to Configure Hardware of an S7 300 PLC using Step 7 V12. The CPUs, 318-2DP and 314C 2DP, with my Order number are not available in the catalog, even after installing HSPs Downloaded from the Siemens site. THis is needed urgently.

Siemens has made a deliberate decision to only support newer S7 hardware with TIA Portal Step 7. If memory serves me right you can only use S7 hardware that wascurrent as of 2007 and a 318 is definetely not supported by TIA Portal Step 7 (it entered product discontinuation phase in 2006). You'll find a detailed list of supported hardware in the FAQ Which devices and modules are supported by STEP 7 Professional and WinCC Professional in the TIA Portal? Alternatively, use the TIA Portal Readiness Check Tool to find out if your "old" S7 hardware is supported. If you must use CPU's that are not supported by TIA Portal Step 7, you will as such have to use the "classic" Step 7 for them. I hope this helps
