PID block for Open loop Pressure control

Ganeshan Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Dear Friends, I'm Working in 315-2DP CPU, in my project, there is an pump which increases the pressure in the machine, for releasing the same we are having digital valves to release, my question is can i use FB41 to control the pressure up cycle, and step control pid block for releasing the pressure, please find the attached picture of the system. the setpoints will change by time to time. Hello Ganeshan, The most important point would be: Safety precaution due to high pressure set-up. Reading section 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 of "Regeln mit SIMATIC",the official reference on regulation with SIMATIC products.For using FB42, reaction of actuator to OFF status on output binary signal is important.Be sure that both actuators are suitable for your case (before going to next step). In your case, 2 actuators are sharing a process.In this situation , you should ensure that each controller has constructive action for each mode like pressurizing and de-pressurizing. For more advance options for set-points,I suggest checking modular/standard PID contrl package for more information. These are points from Regulation in SIMATIC point of view.Please, consult an expert in the field for more comments on safety and proper way of this set-up. Ganeshan Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Dearhdhosseini thanks for the inputs, in my case, while pressure up the releasing valve should not open (should not release pressure), this is process requirement, the two cycles are independant cycles, I'm planning to use FB41 for pressure up cycle, and for the de-pressure i'm planning to use the logics to operate the releasing valve, if anyone have the same application please share your experiences here, this will helpfull for me.
