Firmware CPU 414-4H

Dimbas Posts: 75 Rating: (0)	In one of our formations, we use H system with CPU 414-4H ( article code number is 6ES7 414-4HJ00-0AB0 Firmware V3.1.1) and In "Hardware Config." the equipment is specified as follows: CPU 414-4H (6ES7 414-4HJ00-0AB0) - Firmware V2.1 . During download in the controller, there has never been any system notifications about mismatch of the firmware versions. In this connection, we would like to ask you if the equipment will work properly under such conditions, and with which firmware? If the correct performance of the equipment cannot be guaranteed while using the abovementioned configuration, is it possible to change the version of firmware and to install a new configuration into the controller without stopping it ?

(We were mistaken. Instead of Firmware V3.1.1 in Step7 have specified Firmware V2.1) In this case, we would like to ask you if the equipment will work properly under such conditions?

You have a "real" CPU414-4H, firmware version 3.1.1 and in your HW Config you can only find the CPU414-4H with the firmware version 2.1? With STEP 7 V5.2 or higher you have the possibility to update the hardware catalog of the HW Config via the internet. Just open HW Config and execute the hardware update via: "Options -> Install HW Updates ...". If you have an older version of STEP 7 updates of the hardware catalog can only be done with the installation of service packs. But it is always recommended to have the newest service pack installed. But I was mistaken and has inserted CPU414-4H with firmware V2.1 (in Step7). After this I downloaded this config in CPU. In this case, we would like to ask you if the equipment will work properly under such conditions? "Real" - CPU414-4H, firmware version 3.1.1 configured and loaded from Step7 - CPU414-4H, firmware version 2.1

You have to observe, that you can use only the functionality of the version you have configured. The better way would be to upgrade you project an the firmeware too if possible. Best regards Sabine

[:(] It is the best to upgrade the hardware configuration by puting the 'REAL' CPU over the V2.1 and download this to the H-System. If it is in work then it is not possible to load this without a total stop of the H-System. Best regards, Late
