can i use a high speed counter to count the pulses from  pwm output in mode 12 ? and how it works?

I don't know anything about s7-200 but a s7-1200 the simple answer is yes, it is possible.

Network 1

Sm0.1 in no contact

After that move 157 to smb67, 1000 to smb67, 5 to smd72

Network 2 

I0.0 or m0.0 in no contact

After that type 0 in pls instruction in counters.

If you press i0.0 you will get pto in q0.0

10 pulses smd72 * 2 . (Its always like that)

1sec as you passed 1000 to smw68. 1000 means 1000ms

duration 500ms on 500ms off, in pto on and of pulses

Are equal
