IOT2040 and USB and Telit HE910 Cellular Radio

Hello, 

I have an Intel Galileo Gen 2 -- and the IOT2040.

The intel one has the usbcore installed -- see below as the result of lsmod:

The Siemens IOT2040 --- does not -- see below:

I need the usbcore because I need to use a telit Cellular modem, HE910. 

What is the process to add this kernel module? I attempted opk install .... to no avail. I pointed to some siemens related repositories -- not no avail. See below:

Any ideas how to add usbcore ? and other usb utils?

Also, what ports are the serial ports in the IOT 2040 ? /dev/tty?

Hello All,

I investigated a bit more ... it appears that I am missing cdc-acm.

All the other parts are in place as modprobe is okay with them, like 

modprobe ehci-hcd modprobe ohci-hcd modprobe ehci-pci

Do I need a new kernel  ? or where can I find a pkg for cdc-acm?

Hi David, here's a list of recipes for Yocto Krogoth that can be added when building: http://recipes.yoctoproject.org/rrs/recipes/2.1/All/ , perhaps the usbutils recipe is what you're looking for. I think you can also do opkg list to see if it's available that way, but it looks like you already looked indirectly. If you want to build a new image with that recipe, you'd add it to this file: https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2000/blob/master/meta-iot2000-example/recipes-core/images/iot2000-example-image.inc during the build procedure.

The "cdc thing" is installed here:

What exactly is your problem? Do you have any errors? The serial port for the cdc acm is ttyGS0 which is directed to the micro usb port. Is this what you are looking for?
