LED instruction problem.

glinglin Posts: 50 Rating: (6)	Hi. Iam trying to use LED instruction in TIA portal V11.The PLC is an 1214C DC/DC/DC V2.1with a KTP 600 panel . I can read the Leds 1-2-3 but from 5 and 6 i get a number -32622.Can you tell me why? Attachment New Picture (1).zip (196 Downloads)

The help for the LED instruction shows the error codes in HEX, so the display format for your RET_VAL needs to be in HEX. Then the return codes will make sense when they exceed 9. For LEDs 0-4, you use the PLC HW_ID. For LEDs 5-6, you use the PROFINET_IO HW_ID I get these on a running1214Cwith no hardware faults: LED - Status 0 - #8093 (not defined) 1 - #2 (Solid Color 2) 2 - #1 (Solid Color 1) 3 - #1 (Solid Color 1) 4 - #0 (Not Available) 5 - #2 (Solid Color 1) 6 - #9 (LED Exists but status not available) I would think the status for LED 6 should be available and known as it is in fact doing one of those listed valid return codes, but as long as it is consistent, that is ok.

glinglin Posts: 50 Rating: (6)	Yes it's running.Just to inform you what i was doing wrong.I was copping Name "PROFINET interface_1" from Project information tab and paste it to the LED istruction but as you can see from the text "PROFINET interface_1" and between the word "PROFINET" and "interface" the down dash is missing so i was getting an error in my istruction. Thank you very match Marry Cristmas George

RChipriano1 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	In the event that you come across this post while experiencing the same problem that was originally stated about the RET_VAL of the LED instruction returning -32622, the problem is with the data type you assign to the RET_VAL. All of the documentation that I have seen so far (online help and PDF documentation) describes the LED function and states the data type of RET_VAL should be an integer. If you use the integer data type, you get -32622. By changing the data type to WORD, you get the expected 8092 that is listed in the documentation.
