IOT2020 WiFi Setup

Kas.Lewis Posts: 32 Rating: (1)	Hello, I have been using the IOT2020 with an ethernet connection but have been constricted by the wire. I am looking to setup a WiFi connection but I am not having much success. I tried following the instructions in the comments without much luck (as has been explained there). I am attempting to use either a Cisco Model AE1000 or a Comfast CF-WU710N (I think) and so far all I get is an error: root@iot2000:/etc/network# /etc/init.d/networking restart Running /etc/init.d/networking restart is deprecated because it may not enable again some interfaces Reconfiguring network interfaces... AutoGen_2630904 Posts: 71 Rating: (16)	Can you please post the contents of your /etc/network/interfaces and /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf files. Apart from that, you can use iot2000setup to configure your network interfaces and WiFi settings. No need to manually edit config files.

Kas.Lewis Posts: 32 Rating: (1)	I did eventually find this and that helped a lot. I also used another post (I can't find it now) that helped me put everything in the correct locations. I have included my findings and setup below to help other that may need it. /etc wpa_supplicant.conf <- holds the log on info root@iot2000:/etc# vi wpa_supplicant.conf ctrl_interface=/etc/wpa_supplicant ctrl_interface_group=0 update_config=1 network={ ssid="work" psk="workwork" priority=5 } network={ ssid="School" psk="The Happy Happy 123 Man" priority=5 } /etc/network/ interfaces <-holds the info for the connections root@iot2000:/etc/network# vi interfaces iface lo inet loopback # Wired interfaces #auto eth0 #iface eth0 inet static # address 192.168.200.1 # netmask 255.255.255.0 #auto eth1 #iface eth1 inet dhcp auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp # Wireless Interfaces auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wireless_mode managed wireless_essid any wpa-driver wext wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf iface default inet dhcp - interfaces 27/27 100% Kas
