1214C and HSC precision

Jolopes Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello! I've set up my 1214C and a Rotary encoder (500 p/rev) to read a shaft RPM. The digital input filter is already at it's minimun value (0.20ms) and the frequency measuring period on the HSC is also at it's minimun (0.01s). I'm reading ID1000 value on a cliclic interrupt (100ms). The problem is that ID1000 values always ranges from 100 in 100, wich gives me to a misleading RPM value. Is there any reasons for that and how can ID1000 show me different values, not only multiples of 100? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's all set up correctly as shown on the screenshot. ID1000 only shows round values with resolution of 100. As example, 1001 RPM on a 500 count - fourfold encoder would mean 33366,67Hz, but on my screen it keeps going from 33300 to 33400. Attachment HSC.jpg (379 Downloads)

Jolopes Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello Kal.A! I have the same reading values from ID1000 in OB1. Huggy, I changed the cyclic interrupt to 1, 5 and 10ms and I got the same result as before. How do I configure the scan time? The highest RPM I'll be measuring is around 2000 RPM (66.6kHz with fourfold, way lower than the HSC measuring input, 100kHz).

Jolopes Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I found the problem! I tried to change HSC1 from frequency to count and the PLC was still measuring frequency, so there was clearly a bug with it's configuration. I restored to the factory settings and changed the frequency measuring period inside HSC1. With a period of 0.01 sec, the values ranges from 100. When in 0.1, ranges from 10, and finally 1 sec, it changes by 1.
