I've got a CPU 1512SP-1PN (6ES7512-1DK01-0AB0) and need to work with the MB_SERVER Function Block to achieve my ModBus communication.

Please, see in the attached image, the best I can achieve is error status 80B6, meaning:

“Parameter assignement error in the ConnectionType parameter of the data block for connection description.

⋅ Only valid with TCON_IP_v4: 0x11, 0x0B and 0x13,

⋅ Only valid with TCON_IP_RFC: 0x0C and 0x12.”

I already tried each of the above “valid values” but that didn't change anything.

I also tried several other things before, but this error seems to be the "closest to working" error I've got since the very beginning.

For example, I tried putting directly the “Data_Block_1”.TCON on the MB_SERVER CONNECT (and removed TCON Function Block), but got error status 809A, meaning: “The structure at the CONNECT parameter is not supported on an integrated interface or the length is invalid.”

PS: By the way, I find it not very user/programmer-friendly to create the TCON_… data types by ourselves.

Which one do you want ?

- If I use “Data_block_1.TCON” (IP_v4) on the MB_SERVER block, I got status 16#809A,

- If I use “Data_block_2.TCON” (Configured) on the MB_SERVER block, I got status 16#80B6.

By the way, what is a “configured connection” ?

Is there some prerequisite configuration do do somewhere else ?
