As i know standart display is only display the Flow Rate, Thanks Regi

danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 11/16/2024 Posts: 1074 Rating: (214)	4-20mA does not have enough resolution to represent a total, so you have to feed the 4-20mA or the frequency/pulse output to a panel meter that will totalize and display the total, calculated from the 4-20mA or pulse input. Precision Digital (like the RD200 meter) has a number of totalizer models that total either 4-20mA or pulse, depending on the model. Some are panel mount, some in NEMA 4 housings, some loop powered.

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 12294 Rating: (2691)	Hello Regian; You can connect the Sitrans FVA 250 to a HART network, if you insert a MEM transducer HART 4-20mA (there are 2 models, one with additional pulse output). Both give you access to a totaliser value, it seems. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/67676175 See the screenshot below. But you have to build up your PC to a HART modem in order to read the HART variables, and you "might" need PDM software to configure the PVA250 to your specs. You should talk to a Siemens instrumentation tech to ensure you work with this flowmeter correctly. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

The pulse output is NOT a frequency pulse output for flow rate. Only the 4-20MA output is a flow rate output. 2. What is available through HART? There is no universal requirement for which parameters can be accessed via HART, it's up to the manufacturer what's included. The totalizer value might or might not be available as a secondary HART variable given the minimalist description of HART functions in the manual: --------------------------------- Totalizer (pulse output) Both the totalizer and the pulse output measures volume and measuring units. The dimension unit of the totalizer pursues that of the flow rate (e.g. if the flow rate unit is l/h, the totalizer will measure in liters). Pulses are optionally displayed at binary output N1. It must be observed that the maximum impulse rate amounts to approx. 10 Hz. The pulse width is approx. 50 ms. Totalizer The totalizer function of the MEM can be switched ON or OFF via this parameter. The totalizer value is saved in the EEPROM when the instrument is switched off. The totalizer can be reset via a HART command. ------------------------------------------- HART is needed to reset the totalizer (that's awkard).. If total value were available as a HART value, it would have to be either assignable to one of the 4 HART variables, or factory assigned to one of the 4 HART variables. But there's no mention of the total being one of the 4 HART variables. But to read a HART value requires high end analog inputs with the firmware that can handle HART variables, typically found in a DCS or very high end PLC. A more reasonable approach would be to confirm that the total can be read by Profibus and buy the Profibus model.
