Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	Preface: It's quite common problem - make FC/FB that would generate 0 and 1 on exit according to some times. Usually such function has EN_R - work enable, Timeout0 and Timeout1 for timeouts and Tim as TIMER (only 1 timer) variable (set of variables can be different). So i think i wrote perfect code for this thing :^)) It took veryfew STL commands. So it's interesting for me if it could be done better:^) So think this is a kind of mind game. If you wish to join - just write how many STL commands did it take. Of course no subfunctions allowed^) In a week or so i would put my code here.Enjoy%)

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	Well, i've met some devices (valves usually), that require such algorithm for work - command oреn for 2 secodns, wait for 3 seconds, then open command again and so on until valve would be opened. It's made to make process smooth - it's technological request.

For example you need "0" for 950msand"1"for1s050ms.Veryinterestingif implementationofthiswouldbe simplewithmemorybyte?Guessnot.... Another thing - these times may change during work by operator - how to handle that?

trainee Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Aret, I don't know in what country/industry you work. But where I come from operators are not allowed to make changes in a process. Not until an engineer has approved or production managers or maintenance supervisor and so on, a changeisallowed. You were giving the example of 2 seconds on and 3 seconds off. You could basicly start with clock memory and use regular timers and then extend it. I presume the code won't be usedwith multiple instances? grtz FKIL

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	I work on many projects in different fields. Ok, if engeneer approved changes what do they do? Change programm code? Too difficult for engeneers on sites. And yes, 2 and 3 s is good example, but what about 950ms and 1050ms? I didn't meant multipile instances.
