102CPU - Will not got into Test Mode

Hi,

I'm new to the Step5 world and we have a problem with a system which is using a Siemens 6ES5 102-8MA02 PLC.

I've been trying to connect to the PLC with a windows XP laptop running Simatic Step5 v7.23 so that i can monitor the program and find what is holding out the system. I can go online, but I can't get the PLC to go into TEST MODE.

I have tried the sequence for the 102CPU as outlined in the PLC manual dozens of times and each time I've checked the ISTACK for the KEINAS flag but isn't never = 1 (X). When I'm looking at OB1 (or any other block) I see a message that indicates BLOCK NOT PROCESSED in the lower right and therefore cant see the live data.

Any ideas?

Is it possible that the package vendor has locked the PLC out somehow so that we can't put it into TEST MODE?

It´s your PLC in STOP or RUN mode ?

Can you try delete all blocks from CPU and load only one easy OB1 with two lines ie.:

AN F0.0

= F0.1

and look in online ... if running so is some problem in your original program.

PLC is in RUN mode.

I never tried your suggestion Jenda. We think the PLC is ok, we have two of these units and neither will not go in TEST MODE right now. One unit is down for maintenence but the second unit should start but we need to 'see' what I/O is missing to fix the permissive issue with the system. However this is the first time we've tried to communicate with the PLC for this purpose in quite some time. Since the last connection, support for the system has changed vendors.

Current thinking is that the new vendor has introduced programming to disable TEST MODE by adding code to modify the KEIN AS, SD7, Byte 6 bit 7 so that when we do the TEST MODE operation, the PLC reloads from the EPROM and re-establishes the lockout every time. now in order to troubleshoot a 'simple' I/O issue we have to call them in for support. Held hostage you could say!

Also noticde that our program now has an empty OB31 block.... totally empty. 

Will this program load and run like this? i'm thinking not, but like i said i'm new to the Step5 world. I don't know how to program the PLC, only how to root around and check the I/O.

This cpu typ 102 is run in "test mode" only WITHOUT E(E)PROM !
