WinCC Unified – Simple Sample - Discrete Alarm

Hi,

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is giving a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Alarm messages are an important tool for operation diagnose of process and system events. There is many variations about alarm and alarm view object settings. Here there is two variants of then: pending and logged  alarms.

• Open a pre-configured project
• Create a Boolean tag:  Project Tree → Show all tags->  <add new>, Name = HMI_Tag_1, Data Type = Bool

• Create an alarme definition: Project tree -> HMI -> HMI Alarms -> Discret Alarm (tab) ->  <Add new> ; Alarm text = "HMI_Tag_1 active"(for example), Trigger Tag = HMI_Tag_1; Alarm class = Alarm

• Place the Alarm control on a screen: Open a screen; Drag and drop a Alarm Control object from the tool box (controls division) on the screen

• To simulate values on the tag: drag and drop (select the tag on project tree, HMI tags, default tag table, details view windows) the HMI_Tag_1 to the screen; Properites: General, Alarm source = pending alarms

  
  

• Create a log file: Project tree -> HMI -> Logs -> Alarm logs (tab) ->  < Add new>

• Link the alarm class to log file:
• Project tree -> HMI -> HMI Alarms ->  Alarm classes (tab) -> select "Alarm" in the table -> properties -> General ->  Log = Alarm Log_1
• Place the Alarm control on a screen: Open a screen; Drag and drop a Alarm Control object from the tool box (controls division) on the screen, Properites: General, Alarm source = logged alarms

TIP: the columns could be set visible/invisible in the properties: Miscelaneous, Alarm control, Columns, "column name", visibility.
