3 Pumps Control with 1 Standby and two Active Alternatively

Haffy Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hey I need help for PLC programming to control 3 pumps out of them one is standby and the two are working alternatively for 30 minutes i.e. Pump A works for 30 minutes and goes off then Pump B works for the next 30 minutes and goes off to let pump A work. This cycle continues until the water tank is full and both pumps will turn off, When the water level drops a certain level the two pumps starts to work alternatively. If any of the two pumps fails or put down for maintenance, the third pump will be replace the faulty one and start working alternatively with the other one. Here, any pump can act as standby and any other two can be put on to work alternatively. I’ll be highly thankful for the help.

In the form of a finished program? How is the level monitoring (pump request and shutdown pump) realized? Digital? Analogous? If analog, which sensor data (output 0-10V or 0 / 4-20mA) and which measuring range?

Haffy Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the support. I need a finished or semi finished program which I can further develop to fully finished. I have all basic concepts but I'm not an expert. For level monitoring there is a float switch which signals about the filled and empty tank in discrete or digital form (on or off). I think there would be interlocking between the two operating pumps to make them run alternatively and also an interlocking for a standby and two working pumps.

If priority 3 was selected, next priority 1 will start again. Within a pumping process, every 30 minutes, the priority pump is switched between the prioritized pump and the next-priority pump. If one of the pumps is disturbed, the standby pump is automatically switched on. If 2 pumps are disturbed, the remaining pump runs through during the pumping process. Can you please provide help for a little different scenario, which is: a pressure sensor operates the pump when pressure drops below 2bar and stops when pressure reaches 4bar (discrete output). Again similar setup: 3 pumps with 2 active and 1 standby. The sequence for the two active pumps is: At first turn, the 1st pump will operate and the second time the pressure switch signals pressure drop, the 2nd pump operates. On third time the pressure switch drops, the 1st pump operates and on 4th turn, the 2nd pump and so on. The 3rd pump will act as standby and replace any pump which is faulty or off for maintenance. The two active pumps do not run continuously, rather they are operated by pressure switch and operate alternatively. (Please also include how to get input from a 0-10 volt analog pressure sensor). You help will be a great kindness for me. Thanks in advance.
