Pnpn coupler X2 side is not configurable

Good day,

first of all just for information, I did use pn/pn couplers (6ES7158-3AD10-0XA0 ) before in the projects and had no issues to set them up.

this one is a bit special I guess, thats why I am here

I have two s7-1200 plcs in different networks, pnpn coupler is between them.

X1 and X2 sides have unique pn-name and unique IP in each network

X1 and X2 are mirrored (IN-OUT, OUT-IN)

X1 and X2 are visible online in the list, online diagnostics is visible or both

all diagnostics bits are unchecked already

X1 looks fine in the project (green, no faults)

X2 looks bad like it is not configured at all or configuration is wrong. The problem is seen not only with the submodules, but also with the main module in hw configuration tree online.

I did try fw 3 IO modules, I did power off  PLC,  pnpn coupler, checked cables, reset modules and configured again and again.

Have a very strange feeling, that X2 side does not take in the configuration.... Is it possible??

of cause HW of PLC2 is loaded.

as I wrote I did test it with compability with the same result and data was also unchecked

and I did try to configure full device in one PLc and exported gsd to another plc . also with IM and with compatible IM.

ps: it is not the project "on table", both parts are running own tasks in real time, just needed to link them now

Solved:

It turnes out that the managed switch allowed to ping, assign profinet names, to program , etc etc etc

And it did not allow "true profinet" communication.

So network device was changed and coupler worka as it should.
