Hi, System: 410 5H , PCS7-9.0Sp1 Have to integrate third party device on S7-410 5H on profinet as shown in attached document. As per manual of PCS7 9.0 & ET200SP HA; it is possible to integrate third party device with S7-410H on profinet like profibus using Y-link. Please suggest require hardware? How it is configure din simatic manager? Thanks, Mahesh N

Hello Mahesh; The equivalent of a Y-Link for Profinet is a switch that connects both redundant CPUs Profinet ports and the 3rd-Party IO Device.. Hello Mahesh; The SCALANCE XF-200BA DNA is defined as a Y-Switch. Here is a document showing some details on its use and implementation in a redundant Profinet network: SCALANCE XF-200BA DNA (Y-Switch) Some terms used in the presentation such as S1 and S2, R1 and R2 Profinet devices may distract you, here is an explanation: Profinet University: Redundancy Terms: S1, S2, R1, R2 https://profinetuniversity.com/profinet-features/system-redundancy/redundancy-terms-s1-s2-r1-r2/ A regular, vanilla PROFINET device that doesn’t have any system redundancy features would have one NAP (physical Network Access Points) and one AR (application relationships) on that NAP, so it would be categorized as a S1 device. A slightly more complex PROFINET device that has one NAP but supports multiple connections would be a S2 device. The SCALANCE XF-200BA DNA can be configured in redundancy rings with S2 devoices. You should look at the documentation of your 3rd-party Profinet device to find out if they are capable of S2 configurations if you want to use this Y-switch. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Mahesh N, you want to integrate third party profinet devices to a redundant CPU 410-5H. Firstly for this you do not need the Y-Switch. The Y-Switch is only needed if you have a redundant PROFINET Network with redundant ET 200SP HA stations and you want to connect other devices to the same Network. Secondly there is one important thing the devices must support: System redundancy S2. If they support S2 everything should be easy going, because you can install the GSDML in HW Config and use them afterwards. After drag&drop from the catalogue they should be automatically connected to both CPUs (The rest is similiar to third party profibus slaves (no PCS 7 driver wizard, etc.) If they do not support System redundancy S2 but only S1 it is only possible to connect them to one cpu of the redundant System. So if this cpu goes to stop the connection is lost. And there is really no way to connect S1 devices to both sides of the Redundant System.
