AK 1703 ACP IEC60870-104 Protocol Analysis

claud84 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hello, While testing an AK 1703 ACP with 104 protocol configured i have noticed that my protocol analyzer captured some ASDU frames wich it could not decode. After the STARTDT ACT/STARTDT CON sequence AK1703 (wich is configured as the controlled station) is sending the following Information frame: Information N(S) 0 N(R) 0 68 24 00 00 00 00 ASDU 87 01 14 00 fc 02 0d 94 01 01 14 fe fc 02 14 81 87 17 04 01 01 01 05 00 7c 10 00 93 46 09 0b ff The ASDU type identification was 135 (0x87) wich the current standard defines it as "<128..135> := reserved for routing of messages (private range)". I have also noticed that the protocol analizer(witch acted as the controlling station) received General Interogation Activation (type Identification 100 with cause of transmision 6) command from the AK1703ACP. Here are my questions: 1. How can I handle this type of messsage_ 2. Can AK 1703 be configured not to send those messages? 3.Why does AK initiateGeneral Interogation on the controlling station and how can i prevent that?

It also sends some messages from private range. For some SCADA systems it is, a problem for some not. When it is a problem, these private range messages cause disconnect between Master and Slave. claud84 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately at this time I do not posess the AK 1703 ACP Toolbox configuration files. I am working on a small qt&c++ project to develop a HMI application for presentationpurposes.This application has to receive data from the AK1703. All i have are some log files generated with TMW Protocol Test Harness while conecting it to the AK1703.I attach them so you can see. It is very sad to hear that SIEMENSIEC60870-104 implementations are not standard compliant. I am not very familiar with the Toolbox II configuration suite. Could someone send me some screen shot of witch settings can i modify ...or play with to see if anything changes? Attachment LOGS.zip (474 Downloads)

It would be good if you ask your customer to provide you a copy of ToolBOX. Only with some old HMI app. these messages cause problems. I had these problems with iFixbut it can be solved. As far as your HMI app. reject these messages you are fine. For example for SICAM PAS it is not a problem. Siemes IEC 104 is standard compliant but just some options are by default enabled and these options are for private range and redundancy purpose. Best Regards Ensar
