6GK1 411-5AB00 IE/PB-Link PN IO with HMI on Profibus

Hello,

I would like to ask for help with configuration my station with CPU, profinet to profibus convertor and HMI.

1. CPU 317F
2. 6GK1411-5AB00 IE/PB-Link PN IO
3. HMI on profibus

I have a profinet CPU and HMI with only profibus connection avaible. I am trying to "convert" profinet to profibus with IE/PB-Link PN IO.

1. Is that even posibble that HMI can comunicate through converter?
2. Is there another options how to connect Profibus HMI with Profinet CPU?

There is my hardware configuration in attachment. It is working without erros.

Hello Homolamatus;

Your CPU 317F-2PN/DP already has a Profibus-DP interface, see your screenshot. If the idea was to simply connect the MP 377 to this CPU ( unless this was an experiment on gateway configuration), you could use that Profibus interface directly, without a IE/PB link as a gateway.

Yes, you can use that equipment but before selecting that please read the document because you should create PN and DP side telegram.

Use a DB for communication read and one more DB for write...
