Hello, 1. Check the profibus terminal switch status, i.e. ON or OFF. Refer OEM drawing & confirm the correct position. 2. Check the profibus cable, termination connection etc. 3. If above two points are ok, try to clear NC & PLC data & relaod the same. |

If you are sure about the profibus connection, cables, termination, switch position & cleared the NC PLC data & reloading etc., then next step is connect Step7 & check the PLC if it is in stop mode. |

No. Best way is to contact your nearest Siemens service support center. |

Until now we know you have a m/c with 840D control--possible lost all data. thee you have back up, download back up data, then your m/c function recovered. Do you know, if you have all hardware --brand new or used but all in good functional condition. you connected them together correctly--to build a new m/c. --if you have no Siemens PLC programing device , such as SIMATIC Manager (STEP 7 SW), your m/c will not be configuration into working condition. and All errors , LED's flashing, all alarms should very similar as you 1st post . So you next time post and ask question--will be better let other know what is your m/c story .and other can easily and quickly help you.

Hello, It means NC.ARC back up which you loaded is not correct one. Is the back up of same machine or another machine? Is the back up quite old? Have you made changes in hardwares after the .arc back up tec.etc. point needs to be study. Have you operated machine in JOG, MDI mode? Is it functioning correctly? Please check this. If NC or PLC arc back up is not correct one, you may face problems during running in other mode also. So I would suggest you to confirm & reload the correct NC PLC .arc backup. |

Hello Piscean, m/c is not working in mda mode nor display actual feed and spindle rpm, set feed in mm and rpm shows and spindle rotate , also not taking feed in auto mode(ie no progress in motion ), We upload same plc and nc archive files from hd to ncu through series startup which runs the m/c all ok lasr time , what is wrong with them this time as we made no changes in hw nor in program. Comments please. |

NC PLC .arc files must be loaded as per the procedure & don't forget to reset NC PLC first, everytime before reloading data. (This includes switch position also must be as mentioned in procedure) |

Plz look at reset procedure that we follow () mentioned as under and let ne know is it ok or not. "In off state of mc We set s3 to 1 then switch on mc, let it boot complete, then push the reset button on ncu, let 6appears on ncu and set s3 to 0, then push reset button and let 6 appears on ncu. Then we set s4 from0to1to 2(here green led goes off abd ps led lit )to3 and let it at3 for 3sec in this time ps led goes off and on again and all other leds remain off, then turn s4back to 2 and to 0." Ncu 7segment display 6and both top green leds on.. then we follow series startup procedure. |
