A way to use vpn of teamviwer to program with TIA portal?

Tnx to all, but i'm a little confused

usually I install on a pc panel the tia portal + teamviwer and I can modify the program even via smartphone. Customer is happy, Siemens is happy, me too, my boss very little...

now I've another problem, my boss didn't give me the budget to install tia portal on remote pcpanel.

i'm trying this solution I've installed on my PG and on the remote PC the Teamviewer VPN, I made all the passages , I can ping remote PC but I can't access to the Plc.

I put the remote assigned IP  7.xxx.xxx.x etc... I can see plc as accessible on the network but not compatible. 

so, is there a way to charge at least software on the plc? is it a Shangri-La? Please say me it's possible or I've to take the car and run for 1000 miles to change a timer.

 You can try with TIA Automation Tool, it is free (sorry I don't have link here but search it). It SHOULD (because I have installed it and tested very quickly) allow you to monitor the status of PLC and there is a button called "program update" which seems interesting....

Hi,

I think i'm making error in ip and cpu addressing.

1) PG :  VPN of TV active  (only one lan currently dedicated to internet)

2) remote PC: VPN active and controlled by PG with assigned address 7.xxxxxxxx

                       2 LAN: one to the router (without assigned ip)

                                   second 192.168.0.2  255.255.255.0     linked to the CPU (192.168.0.1

                                   255.255.255.0)

I can ping from the PG to remote PC 7.xxx.xxx.xxx. But my question is how I've to program the cpu  to be accessible on pg via vpn? i've to soecify IP or let it free, flag router or not?

I'm experiencing similar problems.

TIA portal is installed on the PG connected to internet through a router. The internal LAN gateway ip is  192.168.1.1 anche the PG gets ip with dhcp. 

The PLC is connected through the ethernet port to the remote PC.

The PLC ip is 192.168.1.20 and the remote PC ip on the ethernet card is 192.168.1.120.

The remote PC is connected via wireless adaptor to a router with ip 192.168.2.1. The remote PC ip over wireless connection is 192.168.2.103.

I installed teamviewer with vpn driver on PG and PC. On the remote PC I set the variable IPEnableRouter to 1.

On the PG I started a teamviewer VPN session  PC and I activate a route through command:

route add 192.168.1.120 mask 255.255.255.255 VPN_IP_OF_REMOTE_PC metric 1

I cannot ping from PG to PC through VPN, even if the vpn connection is working.

From TIA portal -> Online access -> teamviewer VPN  adapter I cannot connect to the PLC.

Similarly when I try to load the program to the device from TIA portal it cannot find any device.

Even if I try to connect from the PG to the PLC web service it does not work.

I've tried to switch off the firewall both on the PG and the PC.

What could be the problem? What kind of test can i do?

Hello, I have the same problem.

VPN tunnel established, PG can ping remote PC, remote PC can ping PLC but PG can't ping PLC via TV VPN. And clearly TIA Portal cannot go online with PLC either.

I read on manual you should set

route add <REMOTE PLC IP> mask 255.255.255.255 <REMOTE PC IP> metric 1

OR

route add <BASE IP OF REMOTE DEVICES> mask 255.255.255.0  <REMOTE PC IP> metric 1

None of these worked for me

and obviously if I try to route the PLC single IP with mask 255.255.255.0 I get an error message.

Might be that on PLC network settings Gateway should be the remote PC IP address and NOT the "real" remote network gateway?

Example:

PG IP
192.168.1.4 
255.255.255.0
gateway (telecom router) 192.168.1.240

Remote PC IP
192.168.1.113
255.255.255.0
gateway (telecom router) 192.168.1.1

Team viewer VPN data:
Local ip 7.185.107.153
remote ip 7.98.182.37

Remote PLC IP
192.168.1.20
255.255.255.0
gateway (telecom router) 192.168.1.1 <- should I set as 7.98.182.37 ????

(NB routing enabled on both stations)
