Hello chicha; Here is a link to the C7-623 manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1135678 In it you will find the following description of your rror message: § 551 Controller address cannot be found. Now the C7 units use 2 different softwares, Step 7 for the control (PLC) portion and Protool for the monitoring (HMI) portion. What this message tells us is that the MPI address of the PLC is not matching with the address that is expected in Protool (for the HMI). For some reason the HMI cannot connect to the PLC program, therefore the error and the subsequent stop. It can restart while it is not trying to communicate between the 2 units, but once it tries to read a register from the PLC to display the valueon the screen, you have an error. You would need both of these softwares to find out whichprogram has been erased/changed. And if you are lucky, you would have a copy of the original softwares that were installed so the search can be fruitful. Come back to us with more information and maybe we can help more.
