atv127 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hey, I have a S7-1200 with a SM1234 analog module. I need help on scaling the signal so i can use it on a HMI screen. It's 4-20mA signal. Im using TIA portal v11. I have download some example program, but they usually miss some basic things, that they take for granted. Can anyone help me by ether uploading a Full Program or tell me what to do, step by step?

The library was created on TIA 10.5, but you can open on TIA V11 and the library will be converted automaticaly.

Heberto_hbo Posts: 16 Rating: (2)	Good day, I've being working with this since a few months, this means the value that the system will detect as a"broken wire" or failure in your analog input, for example, you have a signal from 5530-27648 as an analog input (theanalog signal modules only read 0-20 mA which is 0-27648), then, your 4-20 mA signal will correspond to 4mA = 5530 and 20 mA = 27648, the wire break limit is a value that you set as a minimum value for the system to detect a signal failure.... let's say you set this value to 2764.0 when the system reads a value equal or bellow 2764 will set an output (boolean value, 1 for failure or 0 for Ok) in order totell the user that a failure in the the analog input is happening, for example a broken wire in the system or a damage sensor, loose or poor connection etc. I'm using this value in the HMI with an indicator (a light) in a diagnostic screen, So, The r meansthatthe input must be areal value, your set value for a broken wire or sensor failure value.... and the b means boolean signal output. check a print screen of what I have done so you can have a better idea... Hope this information could be helpful if some one could get in deep or give any other comments/suggestions will be appreciated, Best Regards. pells Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	These worked fine for me in 10.5 but when V11 converts the file I end up with a folder titled "Scale_current_V11 SP2" which contains two folders titled "Types" and "Master copies" neither of which seem to contain anything. Under V10.5 the "advertised" FC1 and FC2 appear and work just fine.

SolutionFinder Posts: 559 Rating: (87)	Dear Atv127, There is a very basic fundamental on scaling. You can also make your own logic, if the readymade library block is not available. First of all you have see the maximum count for the maximum input value & Minimum count for the minimum input value. In your case minimum input value is 4 mA & Count would be 5530 & for input value 20mA count will be 27648. So you just have to write the equation y=mx+c Here Y will be count value & X will be in the scaling parametrs means if you want scale 4--20 mA is equal to 0--100 then X (01--100) would be scaling parameters. Just solve this eqaution & find out the m & c values. Now make logic after solving these m & c parameters & you will get the scaling very easily. I hope this is very much helpfull to all who want to develop their own scaling block.
