Analog input - want when load goes on 225 Kgs Logo should give one digital output at Q1

neetansingla Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hey! I need a help. I am new to handling Analog inputs. I want to make a project in which I would be connecting a Load cell, capacity 450 Kgs, 1-10 Volts, 2 mV/Volt as an Analog Input to Logo. Now, I want like when load goes on 225 Kgs, Logo should give one digital output at Q1. May I have some knowledge about this? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from Analog input to digital signal.

Load cells can not be connected directly to a LOGO! be connected. They deliver too little tension. There are special amplifier cards to which the load cells are connected.

neetansingla Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Specifications of load cell is like It takes 10 Volts DC as an Input and generate 2mV/ Volts at an output. It further means that it would generate 0 to 20milli Volts at the output at a load of 0-450 Kgs respectively.

Scorp Platinum Member Joined: 2/22/2008 Last visit: 8/6/2024 Posts: 2698 Rating: (208)	Additional information, normally a load cell contain a strain gauge and this is electrically only a resistor, which do not generate any voltage. The given values show you the maximum allowed voltage (10V) and the difference voltage depend on the weight. The resistor of a strain gauge needs to be connected to a Wheatstone bridge e.g. This is part of the special amplifier ixo65 already has written. If you have an amplifier and you know the scaling, then it is not difficult to use a threshold trigger to switch a digital output depend on a programmable weight. Search for "strain gauge" and "Wheatstone bridge" in the internet for more information. Regards, Scorp

neetansingla Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	ok, That make sense to me. Further I am bothered how I will do calibration of Logo with actual weights. I hope, I have to put one HMI also. If yes, then I should switch to Siwarex WP230 as it has one analog input, can work without CPU and can be calibrated through Siwatool.
