Any Pointer, Read string from DB, SCL

AWestEng Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	You are correct: "AG_SEND" thatI need to use for seding the string to the printer needs 2 things the send string and the lenght 1: I need the lenght of the string as you said 2: Ineed the data of the string The db consists of this message 123456789 this is the order numberthis string needs to be fixed so I have #041C1E1Q1^D before the data and ??] after the data.. => #041C1E1Q1^D123456789??] But I want a FC that makes that string , I would llike to send 123456789 to the FC and and on the output i would like to have1: #041C1E1Q1^D123456789??] 2: the lenght of this string It would be great to have the code in SCL,if it's possible.

AWestEng Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	The problem is 1: to read the string from the DB 2:"Convert" the ANY to string 3: Make changes to the string 4: "Convert" it back to ANY I don't have to Use ANY for reading if there are another way to do that But I need ANY on the output because "AG_SEND" needs ANY for the data string I'm sorry about all the stupied questions. I'm new to this. trying to learn.

But what I have is 1:a DB with a string in it 2: I have to read this string from the DB (The only way I have found is with a ANY pointer) 3: So the input is not STRING is ANY 4: Then I need to change this ANY to STRING So I can use CONCAT to addstuff before and after the input string 5: Thenon the output of the FC I like to send out the string but with the type ANY because AG_SEND can only read ANY on it's input 6:And alos the Lenght of the total string ExDB String: 123456 FC input P#DB5.DBX0.0 Byte 6 FC changes the string to ##/123456??! FC makes a ANY of ##/123456??! and ouput that so I can connect My FC to AG_SEND F'C I don't use SCL to caonnect the FC functions I make the connections in FDB

Of course string is not copied in L-stack, only pointer to it is copied. So in by example P#DB1.DBX0.0 STRING 1 is supplied to FC1. Didn't understand what you've meant. Ex DB1.tmpstr String[10] : '123456' then DB1 would contain(allinHEX) 0A 06 31 32 33 34 35 36 00000000 FC input is formally DB1.tmpstr,infactit's P#DB1.DBX0.0 STRING 1 Initially your request was about SCL, so if you want something else - please be specific. Summary . Try my code to see how it works. If it's understandable - tell what problems do you have.
