Archiving in TIA Portal V13

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1176)	Hi-ya all, I have had the opportunity to play with TIA Portal Professional V13 today. I am used to TIA Portal Basic V11.. so there was much to discover. One of the discovered functions are archiving (as we had on Step 7 V5.x). I did a quick test and have the results listed in a JPG for x3 files types. * ZAP13 1.94 MB 29.84%............. "built-in" * ZIP 1.92 MB 29.53% * 7-ZIP 1.31 MB 20.15%............. freeware 7-zip application * original 6.50 MB 100.00% Archiving is part of my normal workflow. At the very least I archive every morning before resuming work on a project.. even more regularly when making changes on-site. It has happened in the past that a program corrupts and I had to restore from an archive. Sharing an archive with a work friend on site is also easier.. especially when the internet lines are poor. This file "unzips" to a regular sized project. Make sure you make note on where the project is "unzipped" to. Helpful? w LATE NOTE: The 7-zip program is also capable of "unzipping" the ZAP13 file. stefanoclaus Regular Member Joined: 12/5/2013 Last visit: 9/28/2023 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	zap13 is a normal zip file just rename it the only difference is that when zipped to zap13 by Tia, all the files autogenerated are taken out ( with wivcc this means 2 big files) so zap13 and zip are same but zap13 is without not necessary files ciao Paolo i'm using the account of my brother stefano

It Just deletes all auto generated files, just like the ZAP13, but still in AP13 Format. In the Archive dialog choose "Tia Portal project minimized" in the Filetype BR.
