xmyami Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm not sure about how it works (int)CONV(bdc16). As you say it should be like a integer to HEX conversion. Look at this example. 20 (int)CONV(bc16) 32 The CONV function assumes that 20 is HEX and convert it to DEC 32 (20H = 32D). Any suggestions? thanks. Xavier,

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 4352 Rating: (1452)	Hi, that depends about what do you need: a integer = 20 corresponds a Hex value 14 (this needs no conversion - it is just a representation of the same value) a integer = 20 should be represented as Hex 20 (in other hand, 20Hex = 32 Dec), => uses Convert funciton.

It is just a question of representation (both are stored in the CPU as binary value 1010). So, it is not necessary to convert it. Just choose the correct representation on the HMI, for example. If you have a word variableand would like to move it to a int variable, you can use a MOVE block.

xmyami Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi, maybe I don't express me correctly... I'm developing an owner protocol on the PLC. It's quite important to compound the message perfectly. It is, for example, on byte3 and byte4 (it will be a part of a string buffer) there's an HEX value (QB0 state) based on 2 digits. The point is how to handle de format of these bytes as I tried to explain before. "A" it must be "0A" and "1B" --> "1B". Of course AH is 10D but not the same character represtation in an ASCII protocol. hope it helps you to understand the problem. thanks. Xavier.
