Hi Xurcroh It depends of the scanner, Sick provides with a profibus interface. Here you can access the setup of the scanner with the serial port on you PC. A fast solution if you only have to installed the scanner, and run with the same configuration. You also communicate with the scanner directly from the serial port, here you can do ever thing by sending telegrams, without using any special setup SW. Of course you need the protocol. But you have the avenged if you have e.g. 5 scanner that scans the same box, you can compare the result in each scanner if you use the scanners intergraded program, and only send good / no read to plc, by doing this you don’t have use scan time for compare jobs. You can also read out service counters for each scanner. This is written with my experience from using sick scanners. Have you tryed to look at Siemens Machine vision system ???http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/23379628/130000 Don’t waste any time one program serial interface, plug it into the profinet, use the pre programmed function block and do the setup from Wincc Flex. And it works. |
