Black Screen at start up Sinumerik 840D,

I'm experiencing a problem with a cnc machine with the following Sinumerik parts:

Ascom Energy System 77-964-2300 Converter

Operator Panel 6FC5203-0AB20-1AA0

MMC 6FC5210-0DA20-2AA1

PCI-ISA Box 6FC5247-0AA02-1AA0

OP032S Keyboard 6FC5203-0AD10-1AA0

Full CNC Keyboard 6FC5203-0AC00-1AA0

When start up the cnc machine the Operator Panel is Black or Blank,  at the same time the Full CNC Keyboard and OP032S Keyboard's green LED flashes, after 10 minutes the Operator Panel screen went normal until I press the "input" key and all went back to black screen, Is it the wiring or the Ascom Power Unit should I be concerned? Please advise,

Hi,

Difficult to give a definite cause. The control system can function without the screen.

Even if the screen is blank the machine control panel should still function and not flash.

What are the lights and the display on the main unit showing?.

              The display on the main unit (MMC 103) is 0.

I tried connecting an external display but nothing showed up.

Swapped the Operator Panel and Ascom Unit, still no display...

Have a look at this video: open attachment.

The main unit is the 840D control system in the cabinet. Not the mmc which is just the front end.

what happens at this time all LED's on the MCP? 

You did not too bad job--detail description and attached 9 pic's, the problem is you missing "main unit" pictures inside the main cabinet --CNC control--I think you may have 810D instead of 840D--

as from your this pic, --it is PLC I/O extension, normally used by 810D

 let me give you some suggestions:

#1--take the pictures og CNC (810D CCU or 840D NCU) from the front I need to see all LED's --

take picture when MMC103 screen is normal and another pic. when screen is black

#2--make sure your description--you said you connected external device-the same problem, I want to know --if you connected ext. LCE or CRT display to the VGA on the back of MMC103?

#3--You said you exchanged MMC power supply , but do you have another machine or another MMC103 which you can try--I think you may not have--Just want to make sure

#4--I speak Chinese when I check your pic.s  I saw one of pic's has title in Chinese characters in the date--year-month-day-- are you working in China?

Shown in the video clip, All LED are flashing.

Only black screen at that moment even with an external monitor plugged to VGA port.

It was an LCD monitor plugged to MMC103's VGA, nothing showed up.

I had a spare Ascom Energy System 77-964-2300 Converter and a Operator Panel 6FC5203-0AB20-1AA . I thought it might be the PSU so I swapped around but still no image showed on screen.

As I'm running out of time I called the supplier for help, he fixed the MMC103 unit, changed the battery of the device based in the cabinet, open attachment 2.jpg,after the fix everyhting went fine apart from this:

When Reset button is pressed usually XYZ and spindle should all stop, but with the new restoration the spindle kept spinning, I can switch it off by pressing "spindle on/off", but is different to my previous setup which should all stop when Rest button is pressed.

Please don't always copy--paste --it is confusing me--what is your current question?  It took me 10 minutes to find it.

Answer--normally Siemens standard setting like this "When Reset button is pressed usually XYZ and spindle should all stop"--But the spindle stop or not stop by "Resest" can be changed by PLC program by the machine builder.--I suggest that is a small issue. machine running is #1.

But If you have Siemens PLC program sw, and you know how to modify PLC program, you can change that function by yourself
