In general I very much like STEP 7 Basic: user-friendly and efficient interface, much faster and leaner than Step7/WinCC Flexible, smaller project size, new concepts (like symbolic only) which make programs more error-proof, quite stable, intuitive and predictable. The hardware is also quite cheap and good. I used to think that Schneider Unity Pro was the best PLC software, but now I am not so sure, especially if the shortcomings in STEP 7 Basic will be fixed.

It will be helpful for you to have a look at the wish list.

Of those of you who wait until others use the product first for a year or two, how do you make your living? What would you do if none of your customers/users would touch the PLC program you write until "somebody" else bought/used it first for a year or two? Your program or product would never get used. Seems to me to be a bit of hypocritical position to take.

I have been using S7-1200 and what is great disaadvantage of this unit is lack of Online changes in program.

Also it is not possible to integrate winCC flex. project with S7basic project. What makes you to type ALL tags manualy.
