Hello Sharfraz; The cable part number you show is correct for Siemens Profibus-PA cable. However, the IM 153-2 that you point to is a Profibus-DP slaveinterface module, and does not allow (directly) a transition from profibus-DP to Profibus PA. It can be a part of a PA-Link, along woith PA-Couplers. I strongly suggest you look at the information in these manuals andlearn about Profibus-PA interfaces and networks. Then if something is still not clear you can come back and rephrase your questiion: PA System Description |

Hello Sarfraz; You are following the recommendations of the related link, so you can be assured it will work. However, one additional piece of equipment will be necessary: When you use active bus modules, you cannot use the standard rail (S7-300/ET 200M type). You should look into the special support rail for bus modules (select the ;length required depending on the number of bus modules to be inserted):
Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Sarfraz; Yes you can use the FDC 157-0 for the PA Coupler in your DP/PA link; see the latest part number information here:
Once the hardware has been properly selected and configured, you will need a Profibus-PA configuration software to setup, calibrate and maintain your instruments (no, you will not be able to use them on Profibus-PAwithout software support). Siemens offers PDM, there are others from E&H (FieldCare), P+F (FieldConnex), etc, but I have worked with PDM and Siemens networks without a problem. Be sure to check the compatibility issues with your Siemens and Windows software, and the communication cards required for connection to your Profibus-DP network.
SIMATIC PDM (Process Device Manager) is a universal, vendor-independent tool for the configuration, parameter assignment, commissioning, diagnostics and servicing of intelligent field devices (sensors and actuators) and field components (remote I/Os, multiplexers, control-room devices, compact controllers), which in the following sections will be referred to simply as devices. Using one software, SIMATIC PDM enables the processing of more than 2 500 devices from Siemens and over 200 vendors worldwide on one homogeneous user interface. https://eb.automation.siemens.com/mall/en/us/Catalog/Products/10023472 |

Hello Sarfraz; FieldCare is an excellent software for Profibus-PA parametrization. But like all of these softwares, it is not exclusive to E&H instruments. Each one has some way to integrate new instruments (ComDTM files, gsd files) from various vendors. You will find a few entries on FieldCare and the Siemens DP/PA linkin this E&H FAQ page: http://www.endress.com/eh/home.nsf/#products/~FAQ-frequently-asked-questions-answers-communication The configuration of the hardware for the DP/PA link requires no other software thanthe Simatic Manager, especially the hWConfig editor. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
