Can't search online device by MPI

anhvan Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have new S7 300 CPU315 2PN/DP, but I can't search online device by MPI cable. It have message: Online: The local MPI address for the programming device/PC is higher than the maximum device address or the wrong transmission rate or wrong interrupt is set. I'm beginner with PLC. So somebody can show me How to connect this my PLC? Thank!

Duris_I Diamond Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 10616 Rating: (828)	Hello, pls check in PG/PC interface -> Your selected MPI profile -> Options. Here you need set your MPI address 0, this value is resesrved for PG/PC. Look to bottom of options what highest MPI address can be find/check. In other case pls use Profibus cable where you can set termination resistor to ON. If you don't have this type of cable, one alone DP connector but also with PG plug (here you can put your MPI adapter cable connector) and all together put in CPU MPI port. Don't forget set resistor to ON. With this hint you can connect to your CPU. Attachment MPI_connection.jpg (325 Downloads)

I have set interface network in PG/PC and try search devie by network but No devices were found on the network. Message: Scanning for devices completed for interface Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection. No devices were found on the network. This is new CPU, so how to know IP add of its?

In case of use Step7 v5.x you can click in main menu PLC -> Display Accessible Nodes or Edit Ethernet node where you can browse nodes via MAC address, also you can set specific IP to CPU. In other case set of PG/PC interface can be set to your Ethernet card .Auto profile.

( I use TIA 14) But I can't download to CPU 315 - 2PN/DP, my program can't found device ( by MPI or Ethernet interface). When I power on, the STOP LED flash 0,5Hz in 1s and change to flash with 2 Hz and non stop, I have try to resetting CPU memory using the mode selector switch, but the Stop LED don't stop flashing. what problem whit my PLC? and how I can connect with my CPU 315? Check earth connection also. 2. check if all modules has good functional back bus connectors, sometimes this can be problem. You can also disconnect CPU and check it alone without other modules. 3. problem with MMC card. Try put out card and make some reset of CPU. What LEDs on CPU shows this time? Reinsert card and make Reset. 4. Is on card some important project? If no (you only test PLC) in case you have connection to CPU reformat MMC from Step7 menu. In S7-300 manual is info about CPU LED indications in some situations.
