Can't use Pulse output (PTO)

Dear all,

I'm using a 1212C (6ES7 212-1BE40-0XB0). But when I try to activate the pulse output, I can't select anything. When I tried this with a 1214C (6ES7 214-1AG40-0XB0), I can activate this. 

Both projects are empty.

I'm using signal type PTO(Pulse A and direction B)

What could be the problem?

Hi TToorn,

you are using a CPU 1212C, AC/DC/Relay. This PLC has relay outputs and this are not able to act as Pulse Train Output. That's only possible with DC outputs.

Thanks for the reply. I will rememeber it for the next time. The question that I still have is that with other PLC's (1500 PLC), the function isn't even there. So why can I see it,but cant use it?

Hi TToorn,

the PLC itself supports PTO, but not with the built-in relay outputs. You can use PTO when using a signal board.
