cant change program due to error at decalartion table

Eng.KhaledMohamed Posts: 94 Rating: (0)	hi, iam tryig to make changes at plc program but it tell me :the block cannot be save because the declaration table contains invalid entries i found state 0 at decalartion table turn to red so i cant make changes at program any1 know how to correct this state so i can change the program ? Seems like you have modified declaration of FB 8 after you inserted it as data type in declaration STAT0 of FB 100. After the modification of FB 8 you inserted it again as STAT8, STAT16,.... So STAT0 points to an old FB 8, which does not exist any more (FB 8 exists, but has been modified). I suggest you delete declaration STAT0 in FB 100 and store FB 100 then. But do not yet download to CPU. After storing FB 100,add the declaration STAT0 again in FB 100- it will now point to modified FB 8 too and you can again store FB 100. If you just add STAT0 as new decleration, it will be placed at end of declaration list and thus have other address than 0.0 In that case point with mouse to declaration STAT0, press left mouse button, and while keep left mouse button pressed - shift up STAT0 to top position. It will then get address 0.0 and all other STAT-- will have same addresses as before. Normally internal address does not matter to an external caller, so its not essential to do so, but I guess you want to to keep same order of STATs and addresses. Be aware, that by doing so you also change FB 100, thus all functions calling FB 100 have to be updated. If modified FB 100 is called somewhere else, you will see it there marked red. If you click on it there (I am not sure if left or right mouse button) you will be asked if you want to update the function, which you have to do. Then store the modified calling function. And if modified FB 100 is used in a declaration of other FB - same procedure again. Finally download all changed FBs and FCs to CPU.

eisenpferdreiter Posts: 1058 Rating: (93)	Eng.KhaledMohamed hi, i did ur steps and make new stat with same addreas and drag to the top but when i save the program it give me this message As already mentioned in last post, you have to updateall FBs and FCs that reference to FB 8 (either in declaration area or as a program call) and as you change declaration of FB 100 now, also update all FBs and FCs that reference to FB 100. If FB 8 or FB 100 is called in other function, you will find it marked red there, which means you have to update it. Update them and store them. And when you have updated all, download updated functions and modified FB 8 and FB 100 at once. Do you use FB 100 in declaration area of other FBs ? If so, not only these FBs have to be updated, but also the FBs that reference to them. For example: If you use FB 100 in declaration area of FB 110, not only FB 100 and functions referencing FB 100 have to be updated, but also FB 110 and all FBs and FCs that reference FB 110. Its like a chain: you changed declaration area of FB 8, but as FB 8 is referenced in declaration area ofFB 100, you also changed declaration area of FB 100. And if FB 100 is used in declaration area of other function, you also change declaration of that function. Therefore you will have to updateall functionsreferencing to FB 8, FB 100, and in case FB 100 is used in declaration of other function, then also all functions referencing to that function and so on.

Have you checked if FB100 has been updated and stored? If so it should actually work. I personally would have done updates manually - I dont trust the SW for that. Normally there are not so many blocks to be updated, and when doing update manually, you can be sure it has been done and stored, and you know updated blocks for sure and would not so easy overlook one for the download. You can work around if you delete the call in OB 1, store OB 1, open it again and insert call again. Then store OB 1 again. Just be sure that FB100 has been updated and saved before you do. By the way: If you ran updates on consistecy check, did you record which Blocks were updated? You will need to download ALL modified FBs, FCs, OBs etc. at once ! If you forget only one, your system will stop immediately with SF. If you are in doubt, you can compare online and offline blocks. Mark "Blocks" in your project and then select menu "Extras -> compare blocks..."

Eng.KhaledMohamed Posts: 94 Rating: (0)	hi eisenpferdreiter, the fb100 was already updated but OB1 edit > update is invisible the problem with delete old call and insert it again that i dont know what call for ? when i make update at consistency check from view > update i got no updates at anything when i make block compare i found that not only ob1 changed but also alots of DB look i will upload the archive program to u its have no errors with compile but when i make changes i get the errors in OB1 & DB alot of things changes Attachment Metro_old_CPU.zip (271 Downloads)

This should upodate accesses to new values BEWARE: if You use direct addressing (not symbolic) or bahavor where step apply address then symbol (not update addresses to ones pointed by symbols) program may use wrong addresses. I always use blocks-->right click and address priority botom right (Symbol has priority)
