CCU1 alarm 2001 PLC not started, after accidental software update.

Accidentally updated sinumerik 810D CCU1 with 840DE software.

was told that one can save files to siemens pcmcia card and that card was available. 

Didn't know the control would try to update from the card when inserted in to the empty slot on the CCU

Tried to reset and reload mcu and plc data from backup but now there is alarm 2001 plc not started.

How do I get the controller working again?

I wonder about this happen ! Normally befor updating CCU1 you must prepare some works !

OK don't worry . Do you have old PCMCIA memory ? If yes you can do same procedure according to below manual .

I just wanted to use the pcmcia card to store programs but now I learn it doesn't work like that. I did not initiate the update.

what I read in startup and commissioning manual s3 should be put to 2 to start firmware update. I did not do that. Both S3 and S4 where in 0 position. 

So why did it try to update and controller go to default? 

I don't have the original siemens card, it never came with the controller, so can't try that. 

I do have NCK and PLC files from Emco, they send me the files when I first bought the machine and it had lost parameters. 

Tried to reset the control without the card as it has been when I have used the machine. S3 to 1 bootup and wait for 6 on display then to 0 and S4 to 2 then 3 and wait for the led then 2-3-2 and back to 0 

Load NCK from backup and after that PLC reboot and still get 2001 plc no start 

One thing I am not sure, loading the plc should the setting be in punch strip format or no? 

What is the correct pcmcia card software for my controller of I need that? Pic of the CCU1 below

  Are you sure general reset completed ?

All LED's on CCU1 must be turned off and only green's LED light on , in addition of showing number 6 .

After PLC reset and installing backup two red on the plc led picture below.

And after complete reset SF red lit and PLC green. Segment show 6  and OP alarm 2001 plc not started.

I don't really know what I do wrong, it was very easy the first time couple of years ago. Reset and reload backups NCK first then PLC and done. 

1. S3 to 1 

2. S4 to 3 and power on, wait for boot and then plc reset S4 to 2 then back to 3 wait for led to go out and light again then 2-3-2 in 3 sec. 

3. Power off, S3 to 0 S4 to 0 and power on. 

4. Set pasword SUNRISE Load NCK and after that PLC and the machine reboots on its own. 

Last time that worked and now it does not.

There is internal Jeida standard sdram and flash memory that holds the firmware / software on some earlier models. They run without the pcmcia card. They can be updated with the card and run from the card as do the newer. 

Some of the newer controllers can be run from the internal changing the S3 to 4 and bootup is slightly longer. 

All this I have learned last night going through the commissioning manuals. But not finding anything that helps. 

Removed the CCU1 from the housing and took battery off, to clear anything that might stop it from working. 

So if there is no card in the CCU don't put one in there! That much I have learned. Now I have 3 ton paperweight. 

Any information what number pcmcia card would work wit that CCU1 board verios 570 665 9002.03
