Changing Simocode Parameters - Simocode will not accept chantges

consol Advanced Member Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 10/31/2024 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have approx 60 Simocode units on a 315-2DP. I can setup in Step 7 with Simocode ES integrated. However, If I make a change to the parameters of an existing Simocode and download the hardware configuration to the 315, the Simocode will no longer respond. I assume it is because it has not accepted the new parameters and now there is a difference between the 315 configuration and the Simocode. I can only get it to work by resetting the Simocde to Factory settings. How do I get around this? I put the simocode into local mode before the hardware download (Local 2). Is it possible to download new paramters to an existing Simocode? Thanks, Tim

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	hello, Following three conditions are possible for a restricted parameter download to SIMOCODEpro device: - motor is running (Feedback On = 1) - an ON command is present at one of the activated Control Stations - the SIMOCODE pro device is in operating mode "remote" Please make sure that you do not run into one of the above conditions while you download STEP7 HWConfig to PLC. If this does not cause the behavior then I would recommend to try a direct download by SIMOCODE ES stand-alone to the device. Do you get any error in this case? best regards LesPaul

Motor is maybe in operation.' Actual state: Motor is off Simocode is not in remote. The only command present is the OFF input. Can you clarify the following: -an ON command is present at one of the activated Control Stations Does this mean that an ON command at a different Simocode will inhibit download to this one? I'm using BU input 1 & 2 for sensor feedbacks. But the default setting for local control was also using them. I changed this and now downloads are working fine. Thank you very much for your help. Can you help with another query? What is the correct input to use for Overload trip? Is it Event - Overload or Event Overload Operation? Also, how can I detect loss of voltage supply to the motor? (Breaker Trip) without using a BU input. Thanks again for your help.

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	hello, "Event – Overload Operation (>115%Is)" indicates that the motor runs in overload condition. This means a tripping will happen after variable time (according CLASS-curve). "Event – Overload" means the tripping already happened. The motor can only be switched on again after the cooling down time has expired or after an emergency start is carried out. "What is the correct input to use for Overload trip?" - What do you want to achieve? To detect loss of voltage e.g. by Breaker Trip you have two possibilities: Use an auxiliary contact of your Breaker to an BU- or DM-Input Use SIMOCODEproV with current/voltage measuring for undervoltage monitoring function or with a "Limit Monitor" block to detect 0V kind regards LesPaul

LesPaul Posts: 467 Rating: (59)	Hello consol, here some samples how voltage monitoring by using Limit Monitor/External Fault or by using Voltage Limit Monitoring can be achieved. Voltage Limit Monitoring is based on the minimum voltage of all voltages (Umin) Limit Monitor only monitors one connected analog value, if you want to monitor all voltages you have to use three Limit Monitor blocks. If you do not require the internal "Voltage Monitoring" function for another Voltage Monitoring then I would use this one to detect the breaker trip. Of course you have to place the voltage measuring behind the breaker and not behind any other contactor to measure the voltage also in case of open contactor.
