Client / Server setup , and split screen maneger

Hi

I have a redundancy Wincc Server, where I have attach 4 clients. In my project I have a function that can hide different layers on the run time screens; the function works fine on at stand alone system. Because have the pictures stored locally at OS station.

But when I use the function at my server solution, the function return an error because the client can see witch screen I have open.

I use the SSM (Split Screen Manager) for accessing the picture name, because PCS7 use pictures windows for handling the operator screens.

I have tried to copy the screens to the clients but the client still accessing the picture from the server.

Is it possibly to store the pictures locally at the clients. So I can access the screen name in the SSM function. It led to another question what is the difference between using the Client and the Client Ref ?

What will the correct setup be for a PC7 system, because I am bit confused after I have read the FAQ, for which setup I have to use.

So the proper solution is to setup the projects as clients.

Then we modified the script so it should be able to read the picture name from the sever, but we can managed to get I working.

It is possibly to at a tag for every field I want to switch on/off but is a lot of work.

That a failure in my server / client configuration can cause the SSM function will not work properly ?

First I will thank you a lot for digging in to my problem with the script. I have tried to setup the application diag this morning, but i didn’t managed to get I working correctly, can you guide my though the setup of the apdiag ?

I have got the ApDiag to work, the reason nothing is happening is there value “ “ was returned .

I have also experiment with the server configuration, and with this setup I get the screen name returned correctly: Before I start the client project I point that the client should get the server packed form my engineer station. Can you confirm the setup from this screen dump?
