CNC PUNCHING MACHINE, Display didn't show anything

Hello sir ,

I have one CNC PUNCHING MACHINE WITH YOUR SINUMERIK SYSTEM 3 .

WHEN I TURN THE MACHINE ON AND PRESS THE CNC ON THE PLC LIGHT IN ON GREEN BUT MY DISPLAY DID NOT SHOW ANY THING.

NOTE THIS MACHINE IS DUMP IN STORE FOR TEN YEARS AND ITS IS MADE IN 1992.

PLEASE REPLY ME

Split from Sinumerik System 3 Plc CPU 6eS-5921-3WB14 is in Stop Mode.

 Hi, as you said m/c was put in stock for 10 years. I think all parameters in RAM back up by Battery are lost  .  from your picture I guess, If you are lucky seems PLC program save in EPROM NOT LOST.

AS I SEE SOME of signal light on the panel "ON".

the 1st you need replace NC battery. open the control cabinet ,normally on the left side. open battery cover--you will see--there are 2 C size Li batteries.(possible D size, I forget) 

it is better keep your m/c power on the take out old battery. if you cannot find replacement,take picture of battery post here, I may help you to find some .

2nd thing you need contact the m/c manufacturer to get NC parameter backup file. or you may find it in your m/c documentation folder--it may stored in 3.5" floppy disk

Dear i did replased the battery and restart the cnc .

when we push cnc on buton from panel then cnc lihgt become green . 

but display did not show any thing.

ALSO dear i have 3.5 floopy back up file .kindly tell me who to load back up file in to the system.

 You did correct job, But I am busy and as for time zone different can not help you online with real time.

the tips now--

#1--find one PC ( I suggest Win XP os) try to read out what is on the 3.5 floppy disk. you may need to find floppy drive converter to USB port, then connect to your PC.

the back up Files should be like

%TE1

N10,....

M02

%TE2..

and so on.

if IT IS readable the next step

#2--you need find software to transfer file to your System 3.  I suggest Siemens "PCIN" or "winpcin".

SERACH ON line IF YOU ARE LUCKY can find them for free, or check Siemens Forum or open a thread for looking for that SW.

#3 is looking for Documentation for start up System 3 and making transfer cable--RS232 cable.

My last time services for loading system 3 was in the year 2009, almost forget most detail.

You need to do #1 and #2 and looking for documentation. I will search Doc for you as well, Siemens Doc on Web recently "changed face"--I also need to looking for .

this is my first post in the forum. I have almost the same machine with S3, my display is also not working.

My CPU is in stop mode, there is no program inside. But I think that I should run the display first and to enable the communication, this is because I try many times to transfer data from my laptop to the machine with PCIN but with no success. If I find something I will post the result.

I worked on these controls for punching machines. I think we finished system 3 for punching in 1986 or 1987.

Your machine and control is nearly 30 years old.

You need the system 3 documentation which I think is still on the Siemens site.

You will need to perform a cancel 0 to clear out the control and then the correct input number to initialise to factory settings.

If you then get a screen you can continue. If not you have hardware problems.

The system three for punching has many special cycles and also colour graphics for easy creation of multiple parts from one sheet.

It may also have tool rotation facility.

If you do not have a good back up from the machine when it was working you have no chance.

just want to say how are you here, I did not see you for long, long time.

You may remember me. We have had met in the forum 5 to 7 years ago  discussing  and help each other and also help other member in here.

You mentioned cancel+"0" key combination to make screen display is very good for this member.

try to follow up to see we can remote help him make this historic system 3 running.

I did not work on sys 3 punch, only on 3 TT and 3M and 3G. But almost forget detail

Do you still work in the field of Siemens automation? I am now in North America and still work in the Siemens automation area.
