Communication between 2 or more S7-317-2 PN/DP

AVelde Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, What is the easiest way for communication between 2 or more S7-317-2 PN/DP CPU's and how is this done? I'm looking to SFB52 and SFB53, but I can't find an example of the interface. Is there an example with SFB52 and SFB53 or SFC14 and SFC15 with Profinet IO. Thanks, Auke

I think first you have to deside which communication protocoll you want to use. There are MPI, PROFIBUS or Ethernet with TCP/IP. PROFInet-IO communication beetween 2 or more CPUs isn't possible at the moment I think. They are both PROFINET Controller. I found the following update maybee the informations are interesting for you: New Firmware Version (V2.3) for S7-300 CPU 317-2PN/DP There you will find a lot of links to other interessting documents. The functions you list are very special. They are both no PROFINET functions. SFB52 and SFB53 are to transfer data records using PROFIBUS acording DPV2 (you don't need that at the moment I think) SFC14 and SFC15 are to transfer consistend data between the CPU and an I/O-Address. The best information about the functionality of SFBs and SFCs is the online help of STEP7 I think. Best regards Sabine

The number of bytes is limited to ca. 160 bytes, but thats enough in most cases. regards marc
